BikeFit is a privacy-first app. It does not collect personal data, does not connect to any server, contains no analytics or tracking, and does not share anything with third parties. Your session history lives only on your device.
1. Information we do not collect
BikeFit does not collect, transmit, store on a server, or otherwise process any of the following:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, address)
- Account credentials (BikeFit has no account system)
- Device identifiers (advertising ID, IDFA, IDFV, device serial)
- Health or medical data (the app does not connect to Apple Health or any health platform)
- Location data (the app does not use GPS or any location service)
- Usage analytics (no first-party or third-party analytics SDK is included)
- Crash reports beyond what Apple's standard diagnostic and reporting feature provides if you have opted into it at the iOS system level
- Anything from your contacts, calendar, photos, or microphone
2. Information stored locally on your device
BikeFit stores a small amount of data on your iPhone for the app to function:
- First-launch acknowledgements
- Whether you have seen and accepted the medical disclaimer and the "how it works" introduction. This is so the app does not show them to you again on every launch.
- Session history
- For each completed bike-fit session, BikeFit records the symptom you selected, the date, the number of adjustment steps you tried, and the outcome (improved, no improvement, or made things worse). This history is shown to you in the app so you can refer back to what you tried previously.
- Completed-session count
- A simple integer used to show "N sessions completed" on the welcome screen.
All of this data is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard UserDefaults mechanism. None of it is transmitted off your device, ever.
3. How to delete your data
Because all data lives on your device, you control it completely. To remove all BikeFit data:
- Reset all data within the app: not currently a feature; if you would like one, please email us and we will prioritize it.
- Delete and reinstall the app: removes all stored data immediately.
- Reset your device: removes all data from BikeFit and every other app.
4. Children
BikeFit is rated 4+ in the App Store. The app does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is not designed for use by children under 13 without parental supervision, primarily because the bike-fit guidance assumes an adult-sized rider.
5. Third-party services
BikeFit uses no third-party SDKs, services, or trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook SDK, no Firebase, no advertising network. The app's only network connections are those that the iOS system itself initiates (such as App Store update checks, which BikeFit does not control).
6. Apple platform features
The standard Apple platform features may capture limited data outside of BikeFit's control. Specifically:
- If you enable Share with App Developers in your iOS Privacy & Security settings, Apple may send anonymized crash reports and usage statistics to us. We do not enable, configure, or access these reports beyond what Apple shows in App Store Connect.
- App Store purchase, install, and review activity is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
7. Changes to this policy
If BikeFit ever begins collecting any data, this policy will be updated and the change will be announced in the app's "What's New" notes for that version. Material changes will require a new acknowledgement on first launch of the updated version. We will not retroactively start collecting data from existing installations without your explicit consent.
8. Contact
Questions, concerns, or requests about this policy can be sent to bikefit@dancase.us. We aim to respond within five business days.
