Terms

Terms of Use

These terms cover the BikeFit iOS app and this website. Plainspoken, scoped, and short.

The short version

BikeFit is offered as a guidance tool, not a substitute for a professional bike fitter. Use it for what it is: a structured way to walk through one adjustment at a time and learn how your bike responds.

1. Agreement

By downloading or using the BikeFit iOS app or this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or the site.

2. The app, in plain language

BikeFit is a guidance app for cyclists who want to dial in their position on the bike. It walks you through a structured sequence of single-variable adjustments and tracks how each adjustment felt. It does not replace a professional bike fitter, a sports physician, or a physical therapist. If you are dealing with persistent pain, an injury, or a medical condition, please consult a qualified professional.

3. Use of the app

You may install and use BikeFit on iOS devices you own or control, in accordance with the Apple App Store terms of service that govern the download.

You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app beyond what local law expressly permits.
  • Repackage or redistribute the app outside the App Store.
  • Use the app or any of its content to build a competing product without permission.

4. Not medical advice

BikeFit's guidance is general bike-fit guidance for healthy adult cyclists. It is not a medical device, not a diagnostic tool, and not professional medical advice. Symptoms like persistent knee pain, neurological numbness, or back pain that does not improve with normal fit adjustments deserve attention from a sports physician, physical therapist, or certified bike fitter. The app's first-launch medical disclaimer covers the same ground; the app shows it on first install and you acknowledge it before continuing.

5. Your session data

Your session history lives on your device only. You own it. The app does not transmit it anywhere. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Intellectual property

The BikeFit app, the BikeFit name, the website, the bike-fit decision logic, and the design language are © 2026 Dan Case. The app's adjustment guidance draws on widely understood cycling biomechanics; the structured walkthrough and decision tree are original. Trademarks of bicycle component manufacturers (Shimano, SRAM, Selle, Specialized, etc.) referenced in the app or this site are the marks of their respective owners.

7. Updates and changes

BikeFit may be updated through the App Store. Updates may add, change, or remove features. Material changes that affect how the app collects or uses information will require a new in-app acknowledgement on first launch of the updated version.

8. No warranty

The app and this site are provided as-is. Every effort is made to ensure the bike-fit guidance is accurate and the website is reliable, but no warranty is offered, express or implied.

9. Limitation of liability

Bike fit is personal. What works for one rider may not work for another. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any consequence of using the app's guidance, including discomfort, injury, or equipment damage. If you have any doubt about whether an adjustment is right for your body or your bike, consult a qualified professional first.

10. App Store terms control distribution

BikeFit is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's terms of service govern your download and your right to install the app on your devices. Those terms apply alongside this one.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

12. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the change will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app's "What's New" notes for the version that ships them.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to bikefit@dancase.us. Responses typically arrive within five business days.
